Enjoy breathtaking views across Kaprun and the Kaprun Valley to the dam walls at Mooserboden on the Bürgkogel. Archaeological excavations have revealed that a Bronze Age settlement stood here 4,000 years ago, which was expanded in the Middle Ages. Unfortunately, nothing remains of it today.
At the end of the gorge, you can either walk around the gorge lake on the right or turn left immediately before the trail to the Bürgkogel branches off again on the left after a few minutes. 90 vertical meters later, you will be rewarded with a magnificent view. From the Bürgkogel, you can follow the trail directly and return to the normal route not far from the parking lots and bus stops.
