It took a bit longer than usual which is why we are twice as happy to welcome you back to the Sigmund Thun Klamm gorge starting right now! The COVID-19 pandemic also caused certain delays in our gorge with the adjacent Klammsee lake and the Bürgkogel.
As such, the structure set-up after the winter break had to be pushed back, the paths through the gorge could only be laid later than planned.
But finally, the gorge-less time is over! Starting 19 May 2021 we can welcome you daily from 8.30 am to 5 pm. Hike over thunderous waters at your heart’s content and experience the primal force of nature up close – a gripping experience for all ages.
Furthermore, we can already share with you that the popular Gorgeous Lights nights will also take place in 2020. The unique light installations at dawn cover the gorge in a colourful glimmer every Friday from 1 July to 31 August 2021. The mystic combination of water, light and nature turns your evening walk into an unforgettable experience.
See you soon in the Sigmund Thun Klamm – we are already looking forward to your visit!
A heartfelt thank you to all visitors for the many unforgettable moments and exhilarating experiences surrounded by the power of nature.
Now peace and quiet returns—ice, snow, and silence take center stage as the gorge recovers and prepares for a new awakening of nature.
In winter, however, our small winter circular trail to the photo point is free of charge and can be used at your own risk.
The rest of the gorge is expected to reopen at the beginning of May 2026.
