The Views of Kaprun Tour combines stunning views with a wide range of historical highlights. Starting at the Kirchbichl near the church (and the Kaprun Museum), the route leads past Kaprun Castle and over the Lechnerberg to the Kesselfall Gorge in the upper Kaprun Valley. Nine stations showcase the beautiful landscape and offer insights into many different perspectives on Kaprun and its history. Each station has a QR code with further information. Anyone who completes the entire route will have covered 21 km and 596 m of elevation gain by the end.

The tour takes about 6 hours and is an easy hike. The best place to park is the large car park at the Maiskogelbahn and Baumbar, from where it is just a few minutes’ walk to the Kirchbichl.

The stations at a glance

KM 0 – Kirchbichl – Power VIEW
Set high above the village centre, the church square is like Kaprun’s balcony, with what is probably the best view of the Kitzsteinhorn. The old, renovated farmhouses on the Kirchbichl show what Kaprun used to look like. Be sure to step inside the parish church as well, a place of soothing silence.
